Rather rare Long Wheel Base Bentley Turbo R, most desirable year and gorgeous combination of Royal blue with Magnolia and blue accented interior

Here is a really stunning looking and presenting Bentley Turbo R Long Wheel Base ("LWB") finished in stunning Royal Blue metallic with magnolia Connolly hides with blue accents, rich blue carpeting. The twin fine lines to the waist-rails are hand-painted in matching tan.

She has the unusual option of gold-plated “Turbo R” and the infamous winged “B” badges which actually suits this car nicely.

This is a rare car in several ways. Firstly, it is an RL, the "L" standing for Long Wheel Base making her 4" longer with the additional space providing considerable extra legroom for rear seat passengers. Not many Bentley Turbo RLs were ordered. Secondly, its stunning and beautiful colour combination of Royal blue with Magnolia hides. And you will note the front headrests with extra forward padding are an optional extra.

The car is in absolutely excellent condition.

This Bentley is very well known to us having been fully maintained by us by an owner who would request everything and anything be done without sparing expense. Every service is completely up to date. The car has travelled only 63,800 miles.

The Bentley Turbo RL is powered by a 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce designed V8 engine with the Zytech fuel injection system and Garrett Turbo-charger. Exuding in excess of 400 horsepower it pumped out over 550 foot pounds of torque. So she is quite spritely indeed and, quoting Modern Car's review upon its release; "such is the power of this 2.5 ton behemoth, when you power down streets in Sussex, she blows leaves off trees in Kent!". It has the look and a true behemoth it is! With the black and completely integrated colour-coded bumpers, this is indeed a handsome beast.

This is the last year series of the Turbo RL series (1985-1997) and is the most desirable of the SZ Turbo model.

Having been meticulously maintained by Park-Ward, this Bentley Turbo RL needs absolutely nothing. Her most recent service was in July 2023 of some $5,000. Nothing in the maintenance of this car has been over-looked nor deferred. Under the bonnet, the presentation is amazing. It has not been precision detailed but simply kept clean and tidy throughout its life. The car sports the latest style (factory specification original) Turbo R 17” alloy “starfish 7-spoke” wheels in silver finish with red B centres. Gorgeous!

The body of the car is straight and the paint deep in lustre and consistency. It is without fading, dents or dings. There are some minor "sand chips" on the front nose/grill/apron but these are only mentioned out of clear disclsoure. As you can see from the photos they are hardly noticeable. Rubbers, mouldings, badges and external fittings are all in excellent condition. There is truly nothing one could criticize.

The interior of this car is equally stunning. The Connolly leather shows beautifully and is completely original. It has never been messed with and remains very soft and supple without any signs of typical wear. With the exception oif the driver armrest, none of the interior has been redyed or fettled with so you can see just how original and well kept she is. The wood throughout is excellent and can comfortably be described as near perfect showing only the most minimal lacquer marks on the driver door top. Because of originality, we recommend leaving but if you would prefer, Park-Ward can attend to this by our in-house wood refinishing specialists. Carpets, seats, dash, front top-roll, rear parcel shelf and fixtures are truly excellent and I best encourage you to look at all the photos to fully appreciate how nicely the interior presents. The car has its original and factory radio/cassette in place.

Notwithstanding the car’s impeccable maintenance, it will still undergo our “Predelivery Commissioning” program which is a process to ensure all services are up to date and all operational features function and operate as they should. This occurs once the car is sold and prior to delivery. As part of Park-Ward's maintenance program, all electricals and features & functions are inspected so everything is operating as it should; windows, seats, mirrors, A/C, heater, lights, wipers, etc. Right down to every light bulb in the dash. This ensures a true, "take the keys and drive" example with no additional budget needed to attend to any nuances or gremlins.

Being a well-maintained example. It is tight to drive, brakes strong and rides as a Bentley should.

When describing a car for sale, one should be very careful to use terms like "perfect" and "flawless" because nothing but a brand new car can be described this way. That said, this Bentley is very close to, is of a very high standard and is an easy 10 out of 10 driver rating. She is 100% factory original in specification in every respect.
